Dear Katrin,

thanks so much for your suggestions and insight!

Due to simplifications in procedure I do write my thesis in German first. After it's graded I am planning on publishing it in both English and German language on my website.
That way it can reach even more people interesting the topic online self-marketing. Just yesterday an alumni of my University empathized the importance of self-marketing in our special field of study.

I am looking forward to further contact with you!
Christina

What is your decision now? I did write my thesis in English as a German student and found it to be a very good experience because of the reasons you have mentioned above that it is much easier to reach a larger audience especially since I wrote my thesis within the realm of an European reserach project. Apart from that it gave me the possibility to further improve my English writing skills. In my job I will have to write English papers regularly so that it was a great exercise.

For proof-reading by a native speaker it might be a good idea to ask the international office at your university. I did just that and offered a small gift certificate. A Canadian exchange student was ready to do the corrections for me at short notice and he did a great job.

Good luck with your work, it sound pretty interesting and I like your intercultural thoughts!

For all of the reasons you mention - English would be most preferred. Ultimately though your mentors and your graduation committee will have the last say – they have to approve your project.

full ack. Had the same problem with my bachelor thesis about microblogging within the enterprise few months ago. For staff reasons I had to took german. Feedback and range were pretty good, but easily to imagine how far it might have gone if I had chosen english.

Take english and go for it! Yeah, you may be need a bit longer to write it, but don't foget that scientific englisch is much more easier than the german one!
